Born in Julcuy, Ecuador a place whose natural beauty is impressed within his works, where he represents his hills and vegetation with great splendor, also invoking in his paintings, the mirrored waters of the Pacific Ocean, the incomprehensible dried forest and the remnants of a pre-spanish culture which vanished 3000 years ago. All of this along with his indigenes culture "Machalilla" which was born within him since childhood.  Baque has learned to capture the majesty of the Sun creating a luminous spectrum of fantasies and illusions. He is an admirer of the works of the great artist Oswaldo Guayasamín.

“The plastic expression of Audberto Baque, has continually moved between the real and the imaginary. Interested in onirico (dream) folklore, the artist has passed over spaces chromatic and fields of tension that populate his canvases. The composite syntax of Baque isnt too complex, but his themes are treated severely without touches of grandeur or innocent solutions. We are certain that in the searching of the artist we will find other themes, but always we are left with his impromptu, that which Jean Dubuffet calls the flame of vocation.”

"Jorge Velasco Mackenzie".
